Fees

I work on a sliding scale dependent upon your income-debt/expense ratio and try to accommodate people’s financial needs and circumstances. I currently accept limited insurance at this time. For an explanation of the pros and cons of insurance vs. cash pay, I encourage you to click here. I offer a free telephone consultation and encourage you to call with any questions you have about fees and counseling in general.

Individual Therapy

I believe therapy should be a collaborative process. To begin individual therapy, I seek to understand your present circumstances, attain a basic understanding of your past (or more detailed depending upon your needs and desires) and together create goals that are important to you. In individual therapy, we explore patterns in your life that block freedom, growth and connection with others. You will also begin developing a better awareness of yourself in relation to your experiences and your relationships. An overarching goal of individual therapy is that through self-understanding and insight, you will make more satisfying choices, develop a greater sense of well being, and create more peace and contentment within yourself and with others. Whether you want to develop more awareness as a means for personal growth, or break long standing patterns that are interfering with life's movement and relationships, individual counseling can help foster this. Additional therapeutic modalities are offered depending upon your needs and desires such as EMDR, guided imagery and meditation techniques.

Relationship Counseling

Relationship counseling is a tool for healing and maintenance. In couple's therapy, each partner will be encouraged to promote respect and understanding while uncovering the potentially destructive cycle that may be pulling the relationship apart. Each individual will be encouraged to voice desires, emotions, and concerns in a non-judgmental and supportive environment while creating an opportunity to utilize effective communication and conflict resolution skills to enhance their relationship. Much of what is required to build and maintain a healthy relationship is not always so easily accessible, but is comprised of learned skills that can be developed in a safe setting over time. Factors such as family of origin, time needed and ability to process emotion, trust factors, self-esteem, etc. greatly influence how each individual implements the tools and insights acquired. In relationship counseling, we will take the time to uncover relationship patterns and individual factors that are together creating the shared experience and dynamic of your relationship. Moving away from an unhealthy and often conflictual or distanced form of attachment to a more trusting, safe and open form of attachment between a couple is the basic goal of couple's therapy.

Group Therapy

Currently, I have no groups running, but continue to check back for changes.
